Freewheel threads query

I've never seen a freewheel that didn't interchange. Regina, Sachs, or
SunTour.
But they all require different tools to remove.

Well, I have as has Andrew. But today it's very unlikely that you have a metric
freewheel.

Yes, almost all freewheel attachment threads are interchangeable.
They're 1.37" x 24tpi, IIRC. This was a great boon to those of us who
liked to do weird things back then- like putting Regina freewheels on
Suntour hubs.

Going back further (like, the '60's, man...) you might encounter
French-threaded hubs and freewheels. These were not compatible with
English threads and could damage the hub threads if forced. Hear the

In my lifetime, I've only seen one or two French-threaded Suntour
freewheels.

Yes, they can be freely interchanged.

There was also an Italian freewheel thread. It's interchangeable with
the English one in a pinch.
