As I more or less predicted, RFC is becoming quite a haven for humour, so here's a contribution (albeit with a cooking theme) stolen from a recent contribution to rec.humor.funny, in case you missed it there. Quoting, without prejudice:

A wife was making a breakfast of fried eggs for her husband. Suddenly, her husband burst into the kitchen.
"Careful," he said, "CAREFUL! Put in some more butter! Oh my GOD! You're cooking too many at once. TOO MANY! Turn them! TURN THEM NOW! We need more butter. Oh my GOD! WHERE are we going to get MORE BUTTER? They're going to STICK! Careful ... CAREFUL! I said be CAREFUL! You NEVER listen to me when you're cooking! Never! Turn them! Hurry up! Are you CRAZY? Have you LOST your mind? Don't forget to salt them. You know you always forget to salt them. Use the salt. USE THE SALT! THE SALT!"
The wife stared at him. "What in the world is wrong with you? You think I don't know how to fry a couple of eggs?"
The husband calmly replied, "I just wanted to show you what it feels like when I'm driving."

Cheers, Phred.
Thanks Phred. DH thought this was very funny. Guess he'll be cooking his own eggs for a while.

Taking the humour out of the posting....
1. I would never cook fried eggs in butter. Use oil or dripping 2. Don't turn them (unless your eggs aren't disease-free). Sunny side up and still runny. 3. Don't salt them. Salt them at the table.
I once flatted with a Dutch girl. She cooked corn on the cob in a pot filled with melted butter. Phew. Never came across that before or since.
Dutch people are eating really fat, but they don't seem a nation of obese's. They must be riding those bikes a lot 😉
No, their friendly local governments just declare entire city centers taboo for anything on wheels (cars, bikes, ...) so they get to walk an awful lot.

I doubt: everytime I have been to Amsterdam or Eindhoven bikes were everywhere, even in the most central part of town. -- Vilco Think pink, drink rose'

Nobody said the dutch actually do what the local gvt. tells them to 🙂
In a lot of shopping areas bikes are only allowed to be pushed by hand. As soon as one gets a bit further away from the shops, one can actually use the bike for what it is meant for.
