Yes, I am 163cm tall and it is a 46.5 inches frame. The LBS assures me that
he can fit me to it or should I say fit the bike to me. Does anyone have any
comments of the bike itself?

I've spoken to a couple of people who have them and like them (although
most people seem to like what they buy). I like the geometry, and it's
one of the few road bikes around with long-reach brakes and clearance
for bigger tyres, which also makes it useful as a bit if an all-rounder.
They certainly seem well priced.

I ride a moutain bike to work during the week and the road bike on the weekends. I wanted something fairly cheap to start out on but still reasonable in componentry so I bought an 2006 OCR2 when they were first released because they have a triple and carbon forks and seat post etc. Have done 6000k on it now. The groupset is Tiagra not 105. I weigh 90 kilo's and am 6'2 in height. After about 2000k I started breaking spokes on the rear so had the rear wheel relaced with DT Swiss and all is fine now. As soon as I bought the bike I put Conti Gatorskins on the bike and they are worn out now so a new set is going on tonight. Best of luck in your search.

This one has 105 gears (20 gears), double chain ring and is blue in colour.
I think that it may have been released late in 2006. I like the ride and
look etc and am going to buy it today for $2000 (Australian). The RRP is
$2499.

Does it have full 105 componentry? (brakes, cranks, shifters, ...)
If not it is over priced. There are a lot of bikes around that price range.
Trek 1400 for example. Trek have life time warranty on all frames.

Don't rush into it. Test ride as many different bikes as you can. Try
different geometries. You'll be amazed at how different they feel.
One will stand out.

Many of us may have missed the little detail - Joseph talks abot the
"C2" aka "composite 2" OCR. This is a full carbon/composite frame with
105 shifters and derailleurs. The rest of components carry some other
labels.

For 2,000 it is a bargain. So, Joseph, if the frame fits, and you like
the way it rides then get it and ride it.

This bike is designed for someone looking for a carbon frame but in a
more comfortable geometry when compared to carbon frames for racers.
The head tube is reasonably long - a back saver. The bike also has a
very handy tyre clearance - it comes with 57mm brakes, so one may be
able to fit 32mm tyres on it. You may not need to, but it is a sensible
design feature to have this option.

The frame is light but not a feather weight (silly) light.I looks like
it can handle a pot-hole or two. The standard wheels are [censored] (shimano
500 or 550's) but they had to cheat somewhere.....

For that money it is a great bike.

Have a look at this thread, it might give you a better idea of what you will get for your money. It based on carbon bikes but some are fairly cheap.

It was reviewed in the August edition of Bicycling Australia magazine and is
the bike I'll most likely go for when I upgrade to roadie. I reckon it's the
perfect balance of performance for dollar, stopping just short of the point
of diminishing returns.
Giant have just released their 07 models so there's some bargains on the 06
stuff at the moment, but I doubt you'd do much better than the $2000 you've
been quoted.

I was just about to mention the BA review myself! - happened to have the relevant copy to read on the bus on the way to work this morning (yes, I didn't ride in 😉 ).

A few relevant points from it:
- 50-36, 12-25 gear setup - the 50-36 compact cranks will be handy, especially if you're starting out on a roadie and aren't overly used to road bike gearing, as opposed to the usual, larger 53-39
- 8.7 kg w/o pedals, if you're into that sort of thing! (size tested not given)
- bump absorption, acceleration, climbing seem OK
- the casual / recreational rider should find the geometry more comfortable than a TCR
- great value for money

Geometry and componentry-wise - you'll find this stuff on the Giant Australia website.

One of my mates has an OCR 2 from a few years ago and has put a lot of ks into it - the package you're getting is better value for money than what he got. Weight-wise, I think you're getting something similar to my OCR Zero from a couple of years ago, which set me back about $2200 - $2300.

I was looking for a mate and for under $2000 that was the best value I could
find. All depends of whether it fits and what if feels like to ride. They
have scrimped on the brakes and cranks but the rest of it seems pretty good.
