One of those things that ppl use to grab things off of high shelves. Not
sure what they are called, I have always called it a 'grabber."

Poor thing. How about a month's subscription for Netflix, something
along those lines. Does she live by herself? Maybe she'd like the
place cleaned up a couple of times? Go shopping for her?

A one handed pepper grinder. One of those widgets for opening jars which
are essentially one-handed once you've got the jar anchored. A spiked
board for anchoring her veggies while she cuts them. Stuff like that.

Depending upon what she likes to eat, this requires "instant". Like instant
rice mixes, instant soup mixes; anything you can prepare with an arm in a
cast and still eat, if you get my meaning. Maybe some coupons for delivery
food. I'm assuming she lives alone; if she doesn't, then perhaps some help
with her SO for shopping and cooking?

How about some nice smelling lotions to keep her hands and/or feet
smooth and moisturized? I've recently had some medical issues and have
been thrilled with the plants and flowers that have been sent. Funny
cards are nice too. I'd add some magazines on topics that she likes
too. Does she like word search puzzles or crossword puzzles? How
about jigsaw puzzles? I don't know how much money you want/have to
spend but mabye a cheap mp3 player with some ocean CDs or something.
Paperback books that might be of interest to her, oh, and a box of
thank you notes with a nice pen so she can thank everyone who has been
kind to her.

Gin, vermouth, and olives. Seriously though, since it is probably hard for
her to cook you might consider ready-made meals that she can defrost and
heat.

The gift certificate to the beauty shop is a great idea. When my arm
was broken last year, it was impossible to wash my hair well. When I
went to the beauty shop I got the best wash job. Also had a manicure.

My mother's physio made her buy one of those things that requires so
much strength to work it was a total waste of money.
