Have you check Satcodx.Com ? There /may/ be a Eurosport beam
    which reaches your island ...

Sorry, spotted this too late to be able to help you.

I have been capturing the Eurosport coverage to hard
disc, and could easily have burned DVDs for you, but
as I have finite disc capacity I erase everything but
the previous day's each night, so most of the coverage has
already gone to the great bit-bin in the sky ...

Let me know by personal e-mail if you'd like DVDs next
year, and if it's still possible I'll be happy to burn
    them for you.

Just a thought... what about the Tour de France???

No problem. I still have stages 18, 19 & 20 if you need
them, and if you can tell me your latitude/longitude
I should be able to tell you what satellite beams could
be received with a modest-sized dish.

I have last years on DVD... but I'd be happy to pay for media an
postage for this years. I've been trying to get the local TV station t
re-broadcast the highlights but I don't think I'm making much headway
There's only a handful of serious roadies in Fiji and we're hungry fo
any sort of Road Bike stuff (mags, DVDs etc)

I've already agreed to record a number of the key stages for
an Alaskan journalist, so it shouldn't be a lot of extra work
to make a second copy. The only problems that I foresee are
    (1) equipment failure (one never knows ...), and
    (2) the possibility that I may be away at some point
during the race, as I have at most 20 hours recording
capacity before I need to flush to DVD.

If neither of those occur, all should be well.

Don't forget to let me know your latitude/longitude so that
I can check which satellite beams reach you ...

  11. Hmm, pretty poor location satellite-wise, Dominic :
you /can/ get Eurosport France there, but you'd need
a five-metre dish. Guess that rules it out (it would
    for most people).

P.S. You didn't say whether you would like stages 18,
19 & 20 of the Giro : I need to tidy up my hard disc,
so need to know whether to copy these to DVD for you
(it would require five DVDs) or just junk them ...

OK, good luck with the feed, and best wishes to all the Fiji roadies!

P.S. Forgot to give you the satellite/beam/etc details :

    Intelsat 701 @ 180E
    http://www.satcodx5.com/1800/eng/
    TV-DIG-CRYPT 61 10.975 H
    Eurosport France INT701GL MPG2
    MGRD 30000 3/4 161 84

    The beam map, at

    http://www.satcodx-op.com/INT/INT701GL.jpg

may be wrong : it says C-band only, whereas Eurosport France
    is definitely Ku-band.

OK, nearly got everything in order, but I think you may be in
for a shock : the TdF needed about 70 (seventy) DVDs in total
to record the full Eurosport coverage (I supplemented it with
OLN audio for a couple of days where I lost video, and also took
the feed from ARD on the last day since they gave it 348 mins
    coverage compared to ESP's measly 25!). I don't /mind/ copying
all these for you (but it will take time!), but I thought I
should first check with you that you appreciate the sheer volume
of data involved. By all means have a chat with your fellow
Fijian roadies and see if you/they think it's worth it.

    ** Phil.

P.S. Each DVD contains 1H20 of coverage at full broadcast quality.
