Ok so last year I competed in a triathlon. The bike was my worst leg. Also the first time racing on a bike. I think i swam a sub 8 minute 500 meter and for a 20k (12.4 miles) I biked at 19.3 mph on a very hilly road, followed by a 18:02 5k run. I was the 19th fastest biker... the 5 guys who beat me were at least 2 mph faster than me... Is 19.3 a good pace to start?

No, no, not bad at all. Keep training though and you will get there...i have to ask, you were using aero bars right?😕 -

I wasn't that race ... I have a pair now! -
I also just picked up a set of Mavic Aksium wheels and I hope the wheels and aero bars help me alot in the race.

That's plenty good. Triathlon is a tough sport, several of the cyclists in our club are former triathletes or are/were good runners. Swimming, running, rowing, they all develop aerobic fitness.

Aero bars will help leaps and bounds. Don't take my word for it but i think I heard that they will save about a second every mile. Not sure though.
