If at first you don't succeed... Skydiving is probably not
    the sport for you.

I gave up after 8 years, and it was easy. I'd tried to
give up many, many times before, but this time, I read
Allan Carr's _Easy Way To Give Up Smoking_, and it made
all the difference, honestly. For the price of two packets
of cigarettes, I recommend it to any smoker with an open
mind, who wants to be an ex-smoker.

That's my problem, I'm not sure I really want to be a non
smoker, I just want to of not smoked any in the last couple
of months so I don't cough first thing and I can not get
lapped by mseries and girls on the velodrome.

Its the skive that I would really miss.

Now that you can't smoke around normal people at work you
get to [censored] of to the gazebo and have a [censored] with all the
misfits and addictive personality types 3 times a day. At
home when the kids or in-laws get on your wick you nip out
side for 5 mins. That's the great thing about rollups, you
get to extend the skive time and its a nice relaxing thing
    to do with your hands.

I gave up for a few months three or four years ago and it
was definitely the skive I missed most, that and having
something to do with your hands in bars.

I think those of us with a cycling addiction should be
allowed 5 minutes here and there to polish our wheels or
    adjust our brakes...

About 2 years for me. I'm healthier and fitter for it. But
every waking moment of every day, I *want* that ciggie.
    It's like (I've been told) alcoholism. I'm a smoker. I just
    ain't smoking at the moment.

That can take years to disappear. Very strongly wanting a
cigarette *sometimes* can take a decade to go away.

One day, I hope to be fit enough to start smoking again.

What a dream product the cigarette companies stumbled on,
eh? That final trick of processing the tobacco in cigarettes
into "crack" tobacco was the final touch of brilliance. The
speed of the "hit" very strongly increases the strength and
    durability of the addiction.

As an ex-smoker, I just go outside with the smokers for a
    "non-smoking break".

If they can have a break, then so can I.

    Hi Andy

I've been smoking rollups for the last few months for two
reasons. One: They're cheaper. Two: I find it easier to give
up rollups than conventional ciggies. I am currently an ex-
smoker and have been for all of three days.
