  1. Ok going to the gym three gyms a week and lifting weighs for a half
hour, but how much cardio?? 30 mins at medium intensity ok?? Its like
I feel I should be going 5 days with cardio?? I mean I really don't
need to lose anymore weight, but if I lose 5 to 10 lbs thats ideal.
    Whats your routine??

If you want to get that 5 to 10 lbs, then do 5x cardio for 40 or more
minutes and lift 3X per week. Learn to do a good solid weight lifting
    routine, though.

Also, check out HIIT (high intensity interval training) if you are able to
do more high intensity work. It burns fat better than just regular easy
    cardio.

  3. I lift once a week because honestly I make the biggest gains doing it that
way. Lifting three times a week seemed to stall my progress in terms of
    muscle growth.

I do an hour of either low-intensity exercise or on the weekends I do an
hour hike each day. 6 days a week (I take Friday off to have a life).

I'm curious has to how you assess your muscle growth. You're obviously not
on a weight loss diet, right?

I assess it on the amount of weight I can lift and by whether my muscles
    "feel" bigger.

    Since September.

Are you trying to reduce fat?

    Yes.

Well, going by how muscles feel will generally not work. You're still a
beginner, though, so you can get some increases in LBM as you continue to
lose. Lifting once per week may help you extend your "newbie" period. Or,
it may lessen your LBM gains. You really should have started with caliper
measurements at the beginning, to have the best measure. The good thing is
that you do lift, no matter whether you muscles of gotten bigger or not. As
you lose fat, they'll become more obvious, and hence they'll "look" bigger,
generally a good thing (for guys, anyway).

Also, you can increase strength without gaining any size, especially as a
    newbie.

I think training for strength while trying to lose weight is a fine idea.
Training for size while trying to lose weight is a mis-guided goal. IMO.
