  1. Hi, having a problem getting memorymap to recognise,or connect to my gps
unit, I think I have done everything the instructions say, but I still can't
    make any headway. Any suggestions?

What GPS unit are you using?

It could be that you've got the wrong communication protocol set in the
GPS. I use Anquet and that requires (if I remember correctly) the Garmin
    protocol.

There's some info on MM website:

The other point is that if you have a recent Garmin unit, the USB
protocol changed and you'll need upgraded versions of many software
packages to even see the unit.

if Mapsource itself can't see it (Garmin's own utility) then you may
    have a dud handset.

Google may be your friend, but groups.google.com posters definitely aren't.

This may not be your problem but I have a 60CS that was crashing during
Garmin updates and the Garmin Web Updater didn't recognise it.After
months of fumbling around and corresponding with Garmin ( very helpful
and reasonable ) I reinstalled the USB drivers and all is now well.

It won't do any harm to give it a go,you never know.

  6. Thanks, sorted it now, wrong drivers were installed, thanks for your help.

  7. Hi

Have you tried changing your batteries on the handset. I have
discovered that I need a good set of batteries in order for the pc to
pick it up. I am using an etrex vista and rechargeable batteries.

  8. Sorted it now, thanks all.
