Today I went for a ride after work. A fairly uneventful ride in which I
discovered two new cycle paths (One was an alternative to the Water of
Leith Walkway, the other; a gentle sweeping descent to South
Queensferry). Having bought some nanas in South Queensferry, I pottered
up the hill to eat them and look out over the bridges.
But I didn't reckon on the G8! I noticed the policeman as I stopped, but
didn't realise he was approaching until I started eating.
Plod: "Evening sir. We're just doing routine checks on anyone in this
area because of the high risk. Would you mind me taking your details"
Me: "Er... yes actually".
To cut a long story short (Why aren't the drivers being stopped and
searched? - We've got them on camera. - You've got me on camera - You
don't have a numberplate - What makes you think it's their car? -
" "😉 I ended up having my basket searched (Oo-er) and
handing over my name and address so that they could look me up in their
database of known terrorists.
Am I the only one who thinks that outsmarting this level of policing is
well within the abilities of the average four year old?
