Sorry but it's up to you to ask and to specify dimensions.
"Groups", or their badly spelled variants, may or may not
include headset, hubs, seatpost, etc etc and the prices vary
accordingly.
If you specified 27.2 diameter and he agreed, then I agree
you'd have a beef.
Did you specify crank length, number of holes in the front
hub, ditto rear hub, nine or ten speeds, cassette size,
chainrings front changer clamp size ( or BZ) and threading?
If you did all that but didn't specify seatpost diameter
then maybe he assumed you were using a frame with a
proprietary seatpost. Dunno.
For example because of boxed wheels, many oem kits are
supplied without hubs now, so a new "group less hubs" item
is created from the diverted equipment.
I wonder, did it include the new Campagnolo carbon bottle
cage? Just because Campagnolo makes it doesn't mean every
kit has one. You need to be explicit.
