  1. I'm about to attempt lacing my first wheel

(it'll be used to make a spare uni for the club, so I hope
that the strength not needed will only help me in my
    endeavour)

    Sheldon brown, here I come!

  2. Good luck! I built my own MUni wheel (with some help) and if
I can do that (and stay true after 9 months of use), the one
    you're making should survive.

Sounds exactly like an orthodic support for shoes, only different. Would
this be called a butt-thodic support? or glutethodic?

hope you had ateast 3 more beer because I have heard
lacing a wheel is not for the sober... Also if you did
have a few more beer and tried to lace that wheel up, a
    video of it?? haha

  6. I'M ABOUT TO ATTEMPT LACING MY FIRST WHEEL

Before I built my first wheel 3 weeks ago, I disassembled an
old junk bicycle wheel and relaced it a couple of times
until I was pretty confident how it works.

This way you don't ruin good new spokes just by trying
to get the pattern right, and you can concentrate more
on getting the new wheel true instead of struggling with
    the lacing.

And it's a nice surprise to feel how easy new spokes and
nipples turn if brefore you have only worked with stuff that
    is 30 years old :-)

    Regards, Juergen

  7. Wow! I can't believe how easy it is to build a
    mediocre wheel!

There you go...a bunch of spare parts into one more
    usable uni 🙂

I have not used this yet, but I can tell it will be up
    to the task.

While not perfectly true, all spokes seem to have
    equal(ish) tension.

For my first wheelbuild, I'm happy with how it turned out.

Club meet is on Friday, we'll see how it holds up.

(we'll keep this one off the sandwichboards!)
