  1. Can't remember the exact day, but I know I'm close. I hope you have/had a
great day. Right about now you guys are probably milling around the lower
parking lot at San Juan. Good thing I didn't go, we had a few gnarly
    contractions. But I digress.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILL (No BS)

Thanks, Chris... It ain't till next Wednesday, but I sure FELT my age
today! SJT has gotten harder after the rains, and I already sucked at
switchbacks anyway, so the way up was tough. THEN I made some strange move
and THREW OUT MY BACK! I could barely stand, especially on right leg, but
still felt almost decent on the bike. So I pressed on to Cocktail Rock.
Tried to get it (the back) to release but it wouldn't, but being the macho
(read: masochist) man that I am, I continued on.

I was about as awful on the bike as I can ever recall, but it was still a
good time. Big-ass carne asada burritos after (with pink lemonade and
mountain dew dude mixed to drink!)...

    Downing Vitamin I like M&Ms,

    Old (Really Old) Bill

PS: think I figured out what happened. I bought a new TV last week and
moved some very heavy furniture by myself. Felt a twinge then but nothing
bad, but bet I jacked a disc or something and today it went. As my tattoo
says, Shut Up & Ride and No Whining... (Wah!)

BioFreeze! Get it and use it. Just ask Gary (GeeDub). I never leave
    home without it.

P.S. - I hate those SJT switchbacks. I made a grand total of 1 (one)
    when I rode it.

Way to suck it up brother. Sorry I couldn't make it, it was a beautiful day
for a ride. I'll be stuck doing a short one at A/W Canyon tomorrow. And
    again, happy early birthday.

I'm almost finished with my first 32-oz. jug of the stuff! I don't think it
"works wonders" or anything, but it's the best sports rub I've ever used.
    (Smells good, too!)

They're much harder than years ago. I suck.

OK, it's morning. I'm walking like Walter Brennan (my best impersonation,
BTW) on a bad day. (20-somethings are asking, "Who?!?". Sigh.)

  8. Stuff is great but I managed to leave home w/o it.....duh!

Using something else right now and it burns like crazy. Ibuprofen,
Tylenol haven't helped yet. Like Bill, I was moving heavy objects and
strained the lower back. I can sit but it hurts and then I have one
hell of a time standing up. Once I'm up I walk like I have a corncob
stuck where the sun don't shine.

Funny though, riding uphill didn't hurt.......
