HCG is the acronym for Human Chorionic Gonaditrophin and is a hormone
present during pregnancy. Once fertilized, an egg
implanted in the uterus triggers dynamic changes in the mother's body. The
developing placenta begins releasing HCG into
the blood stream. Current scientific philosophy believes HCG helps maintain
the pregnancy and affects the development
and early growth of the fetus. Levels of HCG increase steadily in the first
14 to 16 weeks, and then decrease gradually.
During pregnancy, HCG aids in providing sufficient nutrients to the fetus
through a process that accesses nutrients in the
    mother's stored fat supply.

Ina non-pregnant state, HCG as a weight-loss aid, helps reduce the craving
for food by making stored fat available for
metabolism thus aiding in the ability to adhere to a rigid diet program.
HCG accesses unnecessary fat stored in the body
just as it does in early pregnancy. Abnormal fat deposits disappear; the
double chin, potbelly and fat around hips and thighs
are the first to go. HCG does not deplete subcutaneous or other essential
fat. For many, complexion improves, gaining a
natural freshness and healthy glow with a noticeable reduction in fine lines
    and wrinkles.

Most HCG Weight-loss participants see a loss in girth (inches) before they
see any substantive drop in the scales. When
properly supervised, the result is rapid weight loss and improved body shape
during and after treatment. Scientific evidence
suggests that HCG promotes lipolytic (mobilizes fat) activity. Reshaping of
body contour is quickly noticeable in those
patients who struggle with fat located in buttocks and hips area. As the HCG
metabolizes stored body fat, about 2000
calories are released into the bloodstream, thus allowing for a low calorie
per day diet without experiencing fatigue,
    weakness or hunger.

plastic surgeons routinely use HCG for their obese patients who want plastic

My research indicates that it's an extract from the urine of pregnant
women. Not that I don't want to ingest or rub urine particles on me.

I have a better solution if you want to get some Testosterone Power
    working for you.
1- Eat more protein, like 2g/kg of bodyweight
2- Lift heavy weights in a hypertrophic type of workout.

That should get the old T pump working better, which should fuel you
fine without any of the nasty side effects of 'roids. And no urine
    ingestion involved.

  6. It sounds like a miracle cure for obesity. The next big thing. Perhaps you
    should give it a try.

My research indicates that it's an extract from the urine of pregnant

In southern California there's a chain of clinics "LA Weight Loss"
that have a program injecting the stuff. My ex tried it years ago.

Weight does drop off but there is no reduction in hunger.

And their maintenance phase is to point you at Weight Watchers
    and wish you luck.

Standard problem - If you use a magic bullet to lose you have not
changed your habits so you can't keep it off.

I suppose if you already have an okay track record for maintenance
most of the time but fall off every few years, using a magic bullet to
relose to get back onto maintenance would not be so bad. But
    that isn't their target market.

  8. Thank you Doug. I understand what you are saying. With any 'diet' it's all
about the maintenance phase and dealing with your habits. One can not work
if the other 2 are lacking.

Yes, the target would be very overweight/obese persons vs. the 'cheaters'
with an extra 15 -25 lbs to lose every few years.

My wife does LA Weightloss. No HCG injections, just something not
entirely unlike the Zone diet. And maintenance is the same as the
    diet, roughly speaking.

I concur on the magic bullet comments.

I must be confusing clinics, tried more than one. Lindora Medical
Clinic maybe. Thanks for the name correction.

  11. Yes Lindora does HCG in CA for years.

My original post was feedback from anyone who has used HCG to lose weight.
So far I've gotten negative comments from people who 1) have not used it or
    2) have not done any research into it (the hormone is injected not pee nor
is it derived from the pee). So obviously this is not a widely used method
to lose weight in the main stream. As few doctors (bariartrics and plastic
surgeons mostly) have and do use it while most cringe at the thought of HCG.

As you know it's always easy to get a thumbs up from websites I was looking
    for a more personal recommendation.

    Thanks

Do you believe all the research you've read on this? Even doug says that
that it didn't reduce cravings for his ex, thus refuting one claim made for

    Beware.

  13. Okay, and the same things were once said about Low Carb and Dr. Atkins who
    had 1 clinic in NYC.

Actually I found bunches of people who have used it or currently using it
and they have all reported 1) signification weight lose and 2) no cravings.
The no cravings and no hunger is also relevant to how often HCG is being
used. The original protocol called for 1 shot per day for 5 days. The US
clinics use on average 1 shot a week and Phenermine. Also there are about
100 clinics in the US that use HCG and have for 10 or more years without
incidence. I have found both types of users 5 days shots and once a week
shots. Both are getting about the same results with the 5 day a week shots
losing faster and reporting no hunger, cravings or side effects other then
not being able to perm hair. The 1x a week shots in the beginning have had
cravings and have to fight it a bit more even with the Phen, but they are
allowed more calories then the 5 day a week group. I have also noted men
and women are having equal results using HCG.

BUT I do appreciate the comments!

    Thanks

Allowed more calories? Someone is controling calories while giving shots and

  15. No he wasn't advocating shots but he was advocating a 'new' idea method and
was going against the grain of established thinking.

Again a little research in the how and why HCG does work for weight lose and
it would not sound dubious. The calories restriction is due to the fact you
want your body releasing the fat you already have not the fat you are
ingesting. So it is a high protein, little to no fat and adequate carbs
diet you follow on about 500-800 calories a day. I'll find the link and
post it with the research and FAQ about HCG and weight lose.

No you do not have to stay on HCG forever and yes I am seriously considering
the shots at 5 per day.

It's funny (and this is in general not aimed at you) that people will staple
their stomachs, but a band on it or do other types of weight lose surgery
but some how doing a subq hormonal shot is way too much or out of line. To
me it's akin to giving oneself an insulin shot. Frankly this to me is safer
then going under the knife and the complications of any surgery.

Yes I'm seriously considering HCG and then following low carb to maintain as
low carb is the best way to eat for me long term.

Allowed more calories? Someone is controling calories while giving shots

You will lose fast on 500-800 cal/day. But what happens when you stop
with the shots and go back to eating regularly or even LC maintenance?

Will you do 800 calories a day for the rest of your life? Without the
    major hunger suppression?

What will you do to keep your body from harvesting protein from your
muscles? If you want to lift or do intervals, what are you going to
    use for energy exactly?

    I'm very confused here.

So, to me, that's all nuts. Gastric Bypass, banding, whatever. That's
nuts. Shooting hormones is a little nuts too. Just eat right. And when
you've exhausted that option, then look into something more drastic.

Yes I'm seriously considering HCG and then following low carb to maintain as
low carb is the best way to eat for me long term.

    So, let's see. 800 calories is 200 g protein & carb total. Cool. 40 g
carb, 140 protein, 10g fat. Kimkins! Maybe you should just look into
Kimkins and save money on the hormone shots. I cannot imagine this is
    cheap.

I'm being overly negative. If you want it, rock it. Enjoy. Report
back. I'm sure we're curious. It's just we're all very suspicious
    around magic bullets.

  17. True on 500-800 cals a day you lose weight, but it's an unhealthy meaning,
you lose muscle mass, HCG preserves the muscle by using the fat your body
doesn't need. You are also eating a protein diet. Your body is releasing
the fat, giving you the energy you need to workout and live.

No you don't eat 800 cals a day forever either, you go back and eat
HOPEFULLY a diet sans the foods that caused you gain weight. Even on Atkins
you go thru a 2 wk initial phase. You can stay on that weight lose plan for
more then 2 weeks or you can move onto Phase 2 ongoing lose and progress
from there. The trick is, to me, to find the foods you can eat forever and
like, discontinue the fat foods or have them in moderation on occasions and
    get some exercise in.

For me it's a matter of I'm not losing as I once did, my thyroid is fine T-3
is fine, I exercise and all and I lose about 2 pounds a month. I'm 41 and
I'd like to get the body I had before my son was born almost 5 years ago
now. Low carb I love it and it's a way of eating I can live with, but it's
not losing the weight the way it did before for me. Surgury is not an
option but this seems like it's doable.

So, fat for energy, protein for muscle preservation, carbs & hormones

suggest 2g/kg of weight total, protein. That's more than Atkins, but
should be more protective. But, if you are 220 lbs, that's your 800
calories right there. dunno about you, but that's not fun, if it's
    even possible.

So, if it's cals in/cals out (not my belief entirely), going from 800
to a normalish 1500-2000 is bound to have an effect, regardless of
    macronutritional composition.

Also beware of the effects of cutting fat for an extended period on
the gallbladder. Mike Eades posted something about this a few weeks/
months back. Low fat with occasional indulgences leads to stones.

  19. Funny you should mention gallbladder. I have none! Gave it up when I was
    21 years old.

Yeah you are right 800 to say 1500 I'm sure to have a weight gain, but I'm
sure it would be a normal gain, 10-15 lbs. vs. what I'm dealing with now. I
do plan to weight train and change a few other things when I'm down about
    50-60 lbs.

I know I'm losing, but 2 lbs a month is agonizing to me and frustrating
causing me to want to give up. Mental anguish.

I'll check out the Kimkins. Is there a link?
