  1. While on my run, I felt my right calf get sore -- not
painful, just a little sore. The next day and today,
my calf is fine but there's some tenderness when I press
and massage behind and just a little below the
    knee -- hamstring, maybe.

It's not too bad. I haven't run or anything (even though
the weather is finally nice!), and I'm wondering how long
you would sit out before you went back on the road.

    Thanks,

    S.

I have soreness in my calf and after a lot of stretching it seems to
be fine. Sometimes it's because of my shoes I think or the surface
I'm on. When you say a little below the knee, where at? The back,
fron or right or left side?

Back of my leg, behind the knee and a little lower. I've been
gently stretching a lot and massaging the area. I don't want
to do any damage that will keep me off the road for a long
    period of time.

    Thanks,

    S.

I wouldn't have sat out for even a day. You start whining and
complaining about every twinge and soon you will be a bundle of
injuries. Just go out and run easy at first and see what happens.
Another way of saying it is that if you concentrate on injuries, you
will have injuries. Concentrate on money instead.

  6. Someone who goes by the name samson whining about a sore calf.

    Pathetic.

Totally agree. Hit the trail, slow down, but never quit -- always
    find some way to run.

There's no whining in running...Just tough it out and you will be
fine. You don't get any better if you sit out when ever you get a
pain in your leg, it will go away. Make sure you drink a lot of
water, and eat right. That is very impportant for running. It
    increase muscle recovery time.
