Hello All,
I was just wondering what you would recommend (foods, exercise, etc)
for someone with a normal cholesterol level, but with a very high
triglyceride level (around 500).
I look forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Esther.

My triglycerides were 412 before I started low carb (100 to 150 carbs per
day, (not all that low) and the next blood test 3 months later triglycerides
were 76.

Well, you can try eating a LC diet....that typically helps bring down
trigs...
Back to your original question: exercise is wonderful, for tryglidericedes
and everything else. Diet is almost a no brainer: eat real foods, By real
foods, I mean: not processed. The people who say to shop at the grocery
around the outside aren't kidding. All the meat and raw veggies are around
the walls.Peel, steam it and eat it. If its fried or processed, don't eat
it. Read labels.

Switching to LC from a diet high in carbs almost always results in a
dramatic decrease in triglycerides.

Give up simple carbs...
No sugar, no flour, no potatoes, pasta, pastries, bread.
Complex carbs only such as whole grains and fresh GREEN veggies.
No root veggies.
Limit fresh fruits to small portions of peaches, plums, apricots,
nectarines and apples.
And EXERCIZE!!! As much cardio work as you can stand,
and some weight lifting.
Polycosinol supplementation is also good.
Good luck!!!
