  1. I had a bucket of homemade stock and an armload of nice
onions, so I'm caramelizing the onions in the crockpot
overnight. But I don't want to leave the kitchen exhaust on
all that time. So lemme tell you, the house is starting to
smell as I go to bed, and I expect that by morning it's
going to reek to high heaven.

Thanks for the crockpot tip, I guess.

My feet smell, too. But my nose runs! (a real thigh
slapper!) Well, what the heck did you expect? I did this at
Becky's once and they totally freaked out. Reek, huh? Must
    be some strong onions.

But oh boy, what a soup I'm going to have for lunch! And
dinner. And lunch tomorrow. And ...

Could you plug in the crockpot in the garage or into an
outdoor outlet? The odor is what stops me from roasting
    garlic often.

Sonofagun! Of course I could! Next time it's the screened
porch for anything stinky. Matter of fact, it would be handy
for a whole lot of stuff when I run short of space and/or
outlets in the kitchen. Good thinking, Gloria.

And here I thought this was going to be a dicey thread. For
some reason the garlic does not bother me as much as the
onions do. I never thought about the garage or an out of the
house place. I might just try it out on the patio under the
eaves of the house one of these days.
