Just for a change in the round of 'hit by motorist' stories,
I thought I'd add my 'hit by cyclist' tale of woe.
Cycling home in the wet and wild weather last night another
cyclist managed to lose control coming around a bend (too
fast!) on a wet cycle path and hit me head on. Despite the
fact that I'd already slowed to near walking pace for the
corner, the impact was pretty hard, sending us both flying.
The really grim news is that I didn't notice until I'd got
home that the Donohue audax frame is probably a write off;
the down tube and top tube have crumpled behind the headset.
This comes but a week after my Terry Dolan road bike was put
out of action by a bizzare snapped chain incident that
managed to take out the derailleur and rear chain stay.
TWO frames in two weeks; just great! End of cathartic
winge...
tom.
