I think the glassware looks fairly graceful (but I am already overloaded
with glassware, so I'm not in the market for more).

As far as putting the plate on top of the glass, I refer you to the story of
how "tapas" came to be known as such.

I'm really not in the mood to purchase stemware but I'm snooping around

Many years ago, Michael I had some square plastic plates (~8" on a side)
with a crescent moon shape notched into one corner. You could put your
stemware (the stem) into the notch and it would settle and stop at the
bowl of the glass allowing you to manage the plate with one hand and eat
the finger food on it with the other. This principle:

That's sort of interesting. It's just the opposite of the ones I posted
about. Instead of balancing a plate on the glass as shown in my post, your
link shows the plate supporting the glass. My only question would be if
it's difficult to navigate around with the stem of a glass sticking out of
the bottom of the plate? I see lots of potential red wind spills on the
rug with either design. They are really interesting to look at though.
