another one this up-coming saturday, considering :
1/ the past 10k was a PR that I ran fast.
2/ I think I've recovered from it.
3/ I've never run 2 races one week apart.
4/ I wish to reiterate a PR, but this time with better pacing.
do you think this makes sense?
Nothing wrong with racing two weeks in a row, as long as you don't do this
every week. You should be able to recover from a 10k in less than a week.
The reason to not race every week is that it interferes with your training,
and it's a lot of unneeded/unwanted mental stress to go all-out week after
week. Physiologically, you could be doing long runs on all those weekends, and
that you're either losing mileage by resting up before the race or squandering
your race by not doing so.
Mentally you either get stagnant or burned out.
