For the past 3 days I have eaten anything in sight and what I eat does not satisfy. Seem to be
driven to eat. I was like this before diagnoses and have controlled it for 1 year. Have lost about
40 pounds. Do any of you have this problem? What do you do to stop it? Betty.

1] Think just how hard it was to lose that 40lbs - [censored] man that is a lot!! Could I do it again? Do
I want to do it again? No way..............mate.2] If you need to stave off the hunger pangs then do not do so using any carbs. That is the
slippery slope.3] It happens to me sometimes - thank fully not often so I fool myself. I look at my watch and see
how long to wait till grub up time. If it is a couple of hours,,,,,i make a no carb snack, drink
a load of water and go for a walk or do someting to take my mind of it.Try anything but don't throw away all you have worked so hard to gain [lose ;-))]

I have found that although I do get really hungry, I can get an imaginary hunger when I lay around
with nothing to do (not often, but sometimes I'm too stuffed by my job to do anything). Then I tend
to grab a snack here and there. If you must have something snacky, pick something that's not too
harmful - like a glass of water rather than a glass of OJ or milk; like a tomato instead of some
cake or biscuit, etc. etc.Henry

You worked too bloody hard to lose that weight - don't stuff it up now.
Mind games. Get two sacks and put twenty pounds of anything - dirt, rocks, whatever, in each. Leave
them in the kitchen near the fridge. Every time you go to open the fridge door, pick one up in each
hand. That's what you lost. Heavy isn't it?If you're as weak as I was then hopefully at least the fridge is now empty. Instead of re-stocking
it with lots of starchy carbs, buy those boring healthy things like celery (good for a snack, slow
you down while you pick out the stringy bits), carrots, asparagus, nuts, peppers, cabbage and so
on. Only have raw meats in the freezer, no cold cuts in the fridge, so at least you get slowed down
by the thawing and cooking delay. Do not buy any bread, crackers, biscuits, chocolate etc until
you've got through the binge. These are just practical ideas to help until you can see the doc, because if the compulsion is as
strong as you imply, you probably need to get qualified advice.Good Luck. I know it aint easy - but you'll make it :-)

carb free and the trick works well for me. I have massive carb cravings monthly ;-).Vicki

There are some foods that are low in carbs, but of course, anything that tastes good, especially
snack items, are not.If you like popcorn without salt, you can do it in a hot-air popper. It is not free, but it is ok in
moderation. However, in order to get the salt to stick to it, you need to pour margarine on it, or
pop it in oil. That makes it a lot higher, and fattening.Surprisingly, exercise may take away the desire for snack items. Have you checked your Bg when you
feel the need to eat anything in sight? -

Some of them were. Did not know this would cause more hunger. Still a lot to learn. Betty.

No I have not. And I want to thank all who replied with such good ideas that I had not thought of.
Appreciate it. Betty. -

+ Asprin 210lbs at Dx to target 174lbs achieved. To mail: aspen3 at freeuk.comIt's a weird world. I lost 28 Kg (60 lbs). The other day I was struggling to carry a 15 Kg bag of
potting mix under each arm down the back of the garden when I realised I used to walk around with
that all day every day.I doubt I could lift it high enough now to do what you suggested.
