I got my new bike a Trek 1500. I am so happy it is 6kg lighter then my Hybrid (Trek 7200FX).
Took it out for its third ride (rode to and from work on friday) this morning and had a ball. Went from Marion to Outer Harbour and back, approx 70km's.
The only downside to today was the crash I had in Glenelge. Came around the courner near the Grand Hotel a bit fast and got my front wheel caught in the tram lines and flicked me off.
Recked a pair of nicks and took some paint of my pedal and some skin on my ass. The important thing is the bike is ok, had to have the two rims retuned, but the rest is fine.

Tram lines suck. One wet and wild Great Melbourne Bike Ride when I was just starting out I got seperated from my partner after I come a gutsa on some tracks in the middle of the city. Very embarassing but entirely not my fault as I was trying to avoid a huge tangle of cyclists who had also had a stack. 🙁
I got back to the car feeling very sad and sorry for myself and had to wait 2 hours or so for my partner to get back. Turns out he had also hit the tracks in a BIG way. Those things cause a whole lot of damage, but are kind of unavoidable when it's as slippery and congested as it was that year. Hope you're okay.
I can relate....my only crash on the roadie was over wet railway tracks. Ironically I took it slower and more cautious than usual and that`s the time I fell. Go figure?
Yup....first blemish is always the hardest with a new bike. Consider it christened.....lol. Now get out there and ride that Trek till the wheels need replacing. 😄
Went from a Trek 7500FX to a 1500 about a month ago myself. I love mine also. This is my first road bike so I have no comparison but so far I love my 1500.
