  1. I was _not_ thinking when I started making dinner tonight. cooked
    some rice, steamed some cauliflower, was thinking of gefilte fish
    until I found some spinach and chickpeas left over in the fridge.
    Saved from serving a plain white meal. Added some edamame. Sauteed
    an onion, found some duxelles hiding in the back of the fridge, so
    threw those and the onion into the rice.

    Husband raved about how good the rice was. And kept raving. Didn't
    think rice with sauteed onions and some reduced mushrooms would keep
    him going so long.

    He's such a sweetie!

    Any meal you don't have to cook yourself is a bloody good meal...... and
    it's wise for the men to praise the women up when they do it to make sure
    they keep doing it ;-P

    But in reverse......... *I* do all the cooking at home :-)

    So yes, when the SO decides to cook a meal..... I praise it up, no matter
    what it tastes like :-)

    RIP! My sincere condolences. It was probably the duxelles that did him
    in.
    Mine are volatile after two days, lethal after three. And just about
    anything
    from the back of the fridge, I check for toxicity.

    Given this husband/wife theme, I couldn't resist passing on the
    following, found elsewhere on the Internet tonight:

    <quoting (with some corrections 🙂 from re.humor.funny>
    A middle-aged wife looked out of her window and saw her husband with a
    kite. He threw it in the air, it floated, then wobbled, and crashed
    into the ground. Again and again, he threw it; it wobbled; and crashed
    into the ground.

    Thinking that men are very incompetent sometimes, she called out,
    "What you need is a piece of tail!"

    Husband replied, "Make up your mind. Yesterday you told me to go fly a
    kite!"
    </quoting>

    Cheers, Phred.

    That's dishonest.

    That's called patronizing, very insincere behaviour, extremely
    smarmy. :-)

    So he was hallucinating? That would explain why he didn't complain
    about the lack of color in the meal<g>.
