  1. It's been a while, but I used to be a regular around these parts. I've
exploded from a low of 195ish up to nearly 260. I've never been this
fat and I'm starting to notice all kinds of weird things happening to my
body. So.... I'm back. My goal is to get back down to a reasonable,
manageable weight, in the low 220s and then work it from there and maybe
drop off some more. I'm committed to eating less and exercising more,
as someone around here used to say (and maybe still does.) I hope to be
a regular contributor and reader again.

    I start tomorrow morning.

    JM

Wow.....this seems to happen commonly to people who leave....I think it's
due, in part, to losing focus through not reading and posting here.
    Comments?

    Anyway, good luck!

Maybe "I'm done and don't need you people anymore" is a pride cometh before
a fall thing for some people?

    Well said.

Actually, I'll bet it is more like, "Whoopee! I'm a thin person now!" and
the person forgets that they vowed, and needed, to make this a way of life.
Denial... big time. And we all know what comes next... By the time the
person comes out of the sugar/refined carb coma, they've gained like 30, 50,
    100 pounds. Whoops!

OK, this is a bit extreme, but I think a lot of us who have posted here for
years have done some version of this, if only an abbreviated one. I'll fess
up too, although my weight gain was on the low end, fortunately.

Seriously, I think for many of us the regain, loss, repeat thing is part of
our learning curve. We may need to experience the nasty consequences of
"normal eating" several times before we truly *get it*.

There's some truth to that for sure. I know I lost and regained 100 lbs
once....and I don't want to do that again! Life is too short to be up and
down the scales....again and again and again. I think, just like many
things in life, folks have to learn that for themselves, just as they have
to figure out how to lose their weight, and how to keep it off. Of course,
you never will know for sure on that last one until you're dead! 🙂
    Waitaminute....

  9. Well why don't we ask, hey JM what happened????
