  1. Well I'm back from my vacations. I have gained back all the weight (10 pounds) I lost over the past
month according to my scale. I know that it'll come off quickly though once I get back on track. I
don't think I'm going to weigh in at the meeting on Tuesday. I know some of the weight is water from
eating too much salt and the monthly friend. I made some of the veggie soup and added chicken and
rice to help me get something healthy into my body. I ate so much sugar while I was home, and it
makes me feel so yucky. I don't think I ate any veggies or fruit either besides maybe cocunut in the
cake and candy. I am not going to give up despite this set-back, but will just work out much much
    harder this week.

  3. Welcome back Amber! Why aren't you going to go to your weigh in on Tuesday? Because you are afraid
of the scale results? Or because you don't want to actually face them? Of course, you need to do
whatever is best for you - but I'm a realist at heart. Avoiding the scale, and what I already knew,
is where my problem started. I may have known in my head that I was overweight, but by avoiding that
evil scalemonster I could still *fool* myself into thinking all would *someday* be well. When I
finally faced that demon head on, know what? The earth did NOT move, my life did NOT end ... it
began. Yup, I was a tad depressed to see that icky number - but it also motivated me more to finally
do something about it. Guess for me it was something similar to that old saying ... you can run but
you can't hide (know what I mean?). Anyway, why don't you just consider just swallowing that pride
and meeting that old demon head on. So what if that higher number is put into your ww booklet - it
will only be temporary. It might also be just the thing you need to spur you on in the right
direction once again. I have heard others in this group say they wanted to skip the meeting and
weigh in when they were aware of the inevitable results. But they also said they felt so much better
when they changed their minds, went ahead and stepped up to that official scale.

Sounds to me like you are back on track already. Keep putting that healthier food into you and
slugging down the water. You might just have a very nice surprise on Tuesday. <g>

  6. Oh, Amber, thanks for posting! I've gained 11.5 lbs. since December 7, and it's so nice to know I'm
    not alone.

I keep reading posts where people had a piece of pie two days in a row or something like that, and
they're worried that they've blown it out of the water...

I started with the goodie package my mother sent, then we had so much family in for Christmas and I
baked cookies and other treats and roasted a couple of beautiful beef tenderloins and potatoes and
there was SO much chocolate and, well, I won't go on. We sent tons of stuff out the door with our
guests, and now I'm going to have to stock up on Gladware again. There was still plenty left,
though, and some of it I couldn't bear to throw away (the tenderloin is just gone as of today).

As soon as the liver pâté is gone, I'm getting back on track. I'm sure that a huge amount of this
gain is from the sodium making me hold water, and wouldn't be surprised if I'm back where I was in a
    couple of weeks.

I've already frozen several small (4 oz) tubs of the liver pâté, and a few of the hummus. I've never
tried that with either one. Hummus isn't that bad for you, but I made so darn much of it! It will be
nice if I can pull a tub of the liver pâté out of the freezer and enjoy a bit of it for a snack now
and then. A little goes a long way, so it might actually be worth the points...

Anyway, I look forward to hearing that you're back on track and melting the pounds off!

  12. I'm sure you're not alone Stan - only brave enough to admit you've succumbed to all those wonderful
temptations. That's the most important step in the ability to successfully tackle the problem. I
have no doubts that you will get those pesky pounds back off, and it sounds to me like you've taken
several steps already to move into that direction. I'm sure I've put on a few pounds, nothing major
but I know I haven't been diligent in following the program through the holiday festivities.
Awareness ... is a great and wonderful thing! So back on track now, and plans to toss out all
leftover *goodies*. Good luck to all of us as we get back into the swing of things.
