They used to have a "Six Pack" DH here in VA. A six was the entry fee and it was divvied up
as prizes.

Speaking of beer and MTB, some locals here have a semi-regular "Schlitz crit"; it's a night race
usually around midnight. The entry fee is a six-pack of cheap beer; halfway through the course each
rider must pound a beer. It distresses me to say this part really helped me make up time in my last
race. Before the race there is a gathering to deplete some of the "entrance fee".

Got any ideas on what to add to really "make it".

Funny, I was thinking about the same thing today as I walked my bike with a broken derailleur
hangar. It broke halfway up a 4 1/2 mile climb, so I walked the rest of the way up, waited for my
friends who did a loop at the top (actually turned my Giant AC into a single speed for the ride
down, should have picked a higher gear) then rode down. I kept thinking how much weight my bike
would lose if I removed derailleurs, cassette, cranks, etc.
