  1. Hi!

I am a fairly new runner. I run about 3-4 miles, 4 or 5 days a week. I strained a muscle in my back
last week. I have taken off for 7 days. I am feeling much better....still a little stiff, but I
    think it's because I haven't been exercising.

How long should I wait before I run again? I was thinking of just walking or doing a nice and easy
bike ride for a couple of days before I start running again.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Thanks,

    Emily 🙂

Did you strain your back running, or while doing something else? If you jog a few steps, does your
    back trouble you at all?

You should post some pics of the effected areas, preferably nude, and in various positions. Then we
can better judge your back problems.
    :?)~

  4. Jogging injured your back for over a week. There are countless posts of jogging related injuries
here, from plantar fascitis to chafed nipples. It seems like at least every month or so, someone
drops dead while jogging. And yet you want to continue to jog. Are you mad at you?

  5. Emily,

I've always found it useful to come back very cautiously from an injury.

Try starting slowly, and stop if it hurts too much while you are running. You should expect some
pain whenever you start exercising again following an injury, since the injured muscle will be weak
from the rest you have been giving it. The key is how if feels when you wake up the next morning. If
your pain is worse the morning after you work out than the previous morning, then you aren't ready
to start training yet. If the pain feels the same or better, then you can continue to train.

    Good luck, Ed Friedman

  6. E is there stretching in your training?? if not this could be the case. when u run do you walk(warm
up, stretch , then run) or do you go all out ?? plodzilla
    PS B-warned , here B-trolls
