David Martin said:Apparently (according to an email I have just recieved) the "cyclist's
friend" has removed the tax concession for home computers in the
budget, effective from 6 April 2006. This was just as my employer had
decided to roll out the scheme.
Yes, this was reported in a few places yesterday.

Schemes which are in place can continue. How far along was your company
with this?
Quoted message said:Does anyone know if this also affects the cycle scheme as the tax break
is the same?
Not affected yet AFAIK, but from the above I guess it depends if the
scheme becomes wildly popular as a tax break among high-earners who
would have bought bicycles anyway.
The HCI wasn't very popular until the vendors started to engage
employers to push it. Maybe if the big bike manufacturers and people
like H******s got their weight behind it it might become popular enough
to be abolished.
