Off road is the way to go.

I will never be able to hop and jump on a unicycle, but I don't care.

It's muni, but go find a mountain, and you'll have a hard time going
back, no matter how much mud you've got.

Krashin' Kenny, I think that MTB'er was dead wrong. If going 50mph down
a road isn't exhilirating, then someone had better check your adrenalyn
gland. And this is coming fron a diehard offroad uni and bike rider.

I do say, though, Senor Coconut is right. You wouldn't want to become
some loser who does noting but spam upstanding unicycle forums with
poor Hunter S. Thomson quotes, would you?

Ask yourself: Do people ride mountain bikes in Florida? Same thing.

Not really. Most mountain bikes never get ridden on dirt. The vast
majority of them, in fact. Same for Hummers. But you get the idea.

This was why George Peck (the grandfather of this area of our sport)
always preferred to call it rough terrain unicycling. The mountains are
optioinal. It wouldn't be fair to all those people living in the flat
parts of the world.

Like surfing. 🙂

In case anyone needs to be reminded of this, please don't respond to

Same length of time as me, about 3 years. Hopping and dropping is
something you come into pretty gradually. You start by riding over some
small roots, then a few small drops, and after a while you get more
confident and begin dropping some respectable distances. While its
definitely not mandatory to be doing insane technical trails when you
do muni, its always nice to push yourself to the limits of your ability
since you get better much faster when you do. The more you vary your
rides, the more fun you have (IMHO).

My last jump on my supercharged unicycle was in late
1983. I was after the $1000.00 prize. Big money was on
