VX02LBL was insured ;-)

I can well understand that some cars that come up as uninsured on this
site will be insured, so use the info carefully.

I can well understand that some cars that come up as uninsured on this

The database is definitely not infallible. I was pulled by the police
because a random check of my number plate details revealed that my car was
allegedly uninsured despite the fact that I'd insured it three weeks prior
to the 'pull'. Apparently insurance companies are expected to enter details
within 14 days of offering cover. My insurance company had failed to do so.

What you see is what the police will see when they run a vehicle check.
If the details are wrong, it's likely he'll be hassled over it when
(if!) he's stopped by them. It's probably worth contacting his
insurance company and getting the error corrected before it escalates
into a Kafka-esque drama.

<Ahem> On a totally unrelated note, it's nice to think that my dad's
Rover 80 is still worth insuring somewhere. If I ever sat in it again,
it's entirely possible that I'd die of sheer nostalgia.

had sold it to me had neglected to do the paperwork to complete
reregistering its registration number - the previous owner had used vanity
plates - and it showed up on the police computer as having false plates.

It took a surprisingly long time - and a surprisingly tense afternoon -
before they would allow me to drive it away - or even leave at all. This
sort of situation is not funny, except in retrospect.

I've told my son, printed of the details and handed him those and all I got,
was a shrug.
Ah well, carefree youth - it's only parents who worry!
