  1. A colleague in the office asked me what I would choose between an ordinary mountain bike or a fancy racer. I prefer the mountain bike with standard tires because I feel safer. Maybe it is psychological with the wider tires unlike the petite tires of a racer bike. Besides, I am not racing and my riding is just for leisure and exercise.

Me too. I'm more about casual rides. I probably won't even consider joining any racing because I find it too stressful. Elderly people are better off just having fun and taking things slow.

  3. if you are looking for a trek for your mountain bike, this is the place for you. it is the one of the most adventurous place in India. check it out at corbettexpert.com

  4. If I remember your budget is low, if this is true than stay away from any bike that has a suspension frame or suspension fork, get a rigid mountain bike, their cheaper to buy and cheaper to maintain. Ideally if you want some limited suspension a fat tire bike would be the way to go but they are more sluggish on roads and going up hills, but they can go into loose dirt, snow an loose gravel that most MTB's cannot travel on, plus they are comfortable to ride due to the low inflation pressures taking up a lot of shock. But it sounds like most of what you'll be doing is roads and maybe hard packed dirt so a non suspension mtb is perfect.

  5. A fair choice, indeed. I can see how the wider tires of a mountain bike would make you feel safer, and for recreational riding, it's a sensible option. However, let me ask, have you tried out slick tires on your mountain bike? They can provide a smoother ride, similar to a racer bike, but still maintain the stability of a mountain bike. Just a thought to consider. #bikeenthusiast #safetyfirst

  6. While I understand your preference for mountain bikes, I respectfully disagree that wider tires equate to greater safety. It's a common misconception. In fact, narrower tires on a road bike can provide better grip and speed, making them safer in certain conditions. I encourage you to explore cycling physiology and tire technology before dismissing road bikes as unsafe. Let's foster a healthy debate and learn from each other's perspectives.

  7. I see where you're coming from, but you're missing a crucial point. Narrower tires on a road bike indeed offer better grip and speed, but that's on smooth, paved roads. Off-road, wider tires on a mountain bike provide superior stability and shock absorption. It's not about dismissing road bikes, but understanding the right tool for the job. Let's not forget, cycling is about enjoying the ride, not just speed or grip. #cyclingwisdom #terrainmatters

  8. Sure, terrain matters. But let's not forget that most cycling takes place on paved roads, not off-road. Narrow tires' grip & speed advantages outweigh mountain bike's stability on smooth surfaces. It's not one-size-fits-all, but let's be real, road cycling is where it's at for many. #roadrules #justsayin'

  9. You're onto something about the prevalence of road cycling, but let's not overlook the thrill of off-road biking. It's not just about grip and speed; it's about the experience. Have you ever tried tackling a tough trail, feeling the rush of adrenaline as you conquer obstacles? It's a different kind of satisfaction. #offroadadventures #differentstrokes

  10. Ever tried a challenging mountain trail? The adrenaline rush, conquerable obstacles, it's a thrill, sure. But let's not forget road cycling's allure. Narrow tires' grip & speed on paved roads, the speed, the thrill of competing, the wind in your face. Different strokes, different thrills. #roadrules #differentstrokes
