  1. I've decided that reading and responding to threads in this newsgroup is just a boring waste of
time. What goes on here has clearly become an unmoderated, valueless effort of religious one-
upsmanship, personal attack, crazy theories (2pddiet! Statins kill!), people masquerading under
multiple names, and other meaningless negative rants. It's apparent to me that the FAQ needs
    expanding to include many others.

I make the following predictions for the future:

No matter what the science says, the anti-statinites will still be insisting that all
    statins are evil.

A certain poster will continue to respond to anything with only bible quotes, eventually only
responding with cryptic chapter and verse numbers.

A certain Dr. (and his multiple personalities) will continue to spend WAY too much time on his
computer rather than treating patients (Does he have any?) and continue to insist that anyone who
questions his or others off-topic religiosity is "envious" (!).

New, innocent pawns will stumble into the group looking for help and not receive it.

A very few brave individuals will continue to wage a fight against deceit, exaggeration and
distortion. It will be a hopeless effort.

    Cross-posting will grow.

And so on and so on...

So, I'm off to other places on the net where mature folks discuss serious health issues in caring,
moderated environments and where the nonsense that goes on here is simply not allowed. I'll check in
sometime next year....just for a sad laugh.

And thus God is able to moderate an unmoderated Usenet newsgroup :-)

  4. I couldn't agree more with you. A few weeks ago I returned after not looking into this mess of a NG
for 6 months. I posted the following comment and had no replies. The only people in here are trolls,
or idiots. The sane one's leave straight away.

Too bad though. It's an important topic, that is being dealt with very poorly. Here was my post:

I followed this group pretty regularly for about a year. I found some interesting information and
even had some questions answered by Dr. Chung. Good answers by the way.

Finally all the muck raking and off topic stuff got to me and I decided to let the group go. Didn't
check it once in 6 months.

Today decided to see if things had gotten better and lo and behold...it's worse than it
    even has been.

Of course Dr. Chung dominates the group, not only offering some good advice but also engaging in
endless flaming wars with everyone it seems. Why a real doctor (a specialist even) would waste his
precious time on internet flame wars is beyond me. And his Christ stuff. Same reasoning. Not
appropriate in a medical forum. This was how I felt when I left. 6 months later the silly childish
rhetoric has been taken to a new high.

Now there is Nagler and his stalker (that wasn't here 6 months ago)

Plus all the other fools who must have more time than initiative.

So farewell to SMC for another 6 months or so. This group could have been worthwhile, but it
    continues to be totally useless.

    Adios

Amen. I've checked it more often than that, but my experience has been the same.

Guess we'll all have to find another forum until the [censored] in this one get tired of yelling at
    each other.

Wanna know why you got no replies? B/c we knew that you weren't going anywhere.

    A bag of hot air.

    Leaving ANYtime soon?

"...we knew...?" Who's the "we" that was able to know?

This passes for logic back there in the trailer park?

So, lessee. The brilliance of C_omposted M_ulch is that he *knew* the poster wasn't leaving so
    that's why no one answered?

Poor, lame Mu_seum P_iece. Can't even be cleverly nasty. Just nasty.

Could this be more poetic? Somebody mentions the [censored] in the group and in pops B_lueJob.

Like calling a dog's name and having it run to you.

  10. If you didn't stick around you couldn't have waited for answers now could you? What was it... two
    weeks or six months?

Servant to the humblest person in the universe,

Only a halfwit like Chung would even try to make a case that the most powerful entity in and beyond
the universe is humble. Poor Chung gets all caught up in his foolish statements and then feels that
he has to defend and protect them. Poor deluded, disturbed Chung. Poor Chung trapped by his own
    infirmities.

2 pounds of potatoes = 3600 calories, says Chung. And then insists it's reasonable to think that
after being shown the real numbers.

    Poor trapped Chung.
