It's Ok here on Sky digital (regular and freeview don't get through the
mountains). Hope it works for you by 7:00 pm if you're after the TdF
highlights.

Our digital reception went haywire earlier yesterday ... BBC1 and BBC2
unavailable, the rest patchy to say the least. All cleared up by 6.30,
apparently, but BBC 1 & 2 still patchy.

I was sore disappointed the other night when sitting down to watch the
recording I'd made earlier to find the opposite problem, no picture
just sound.

I do have an annoying feature on the $ky digibox, where it often powers
on with picture, but no sound. Need to do a channel change to get
sound. A right PITA when recording something to PVR, only to find
there's no sound 🙁
It's off contract, so no $ky engineer to call out.

Oh and yesterday's end of stage made very interesting watching, esp. as
that is where I go skiing every year, and I *think* I recognised a few
bits. I really do wanna go mountain biking there next year now 🙂

My PVR (external Sony HDD/DVD recorder, not Sky+) uses synchro record,
which I just enable when I go away and need something recording. ie
when it sees signal on the SCART input, it starts recording to a new
file. The Sky box only has the ability to set an autostart on
individual programmes.

If I keep the Sky box on (with autostart as appropriate), then the PVR
needs to be programmed manually in addition to the Sky box. It also
needs to be kept very well synchronised, and also the timer needs to be
programmed with sufficient margin to cater for certain channels being
'out' by as much as 3 minutes!

With synchro-rec, all I do is set autostart on all my programmes, and
hit 1 button on PVR to record the lot (hopefully with sound and
pictures!).

I've had a couple of days when the highlights recorded at 19:00 have
been unwatchable. Thankfully the reception has been perfect when I've
re-recorded them in the small hours of the morning.
