jtek shiftmate

Anyone? This is odd. No one replying.

I am currently using the jtek shiftmate to run Campy Chorus 10 speed shifters with a shimano 9 speed cassette, works perfectly.

The best thing though is that the shiftmate model that allows you to do this also allows for campy 10 to shimano 10 - you just need to remove the pulley, turn it around and re-insert it. Makes it easy to upgrade to 10 speed in the future.

Just wondering though, what model are your running (#2?) and are you running a shimano derailleur or camp derailleur? Oh, and finally, is it hard to setup or not? For example is it finky, or once it is setup, you don't really need to touch it, and you just forget about it?

Once the thing is set you never touch it again, there is no adjustments that you can make to it anyway. I run the model #1 with campy 10 everything on shimano 10 wheels. It is great because i have two bikes one with DA and the other with Chorus, this setup with the shiftmate allows me to have the same type of wheel for both bikes and not have to worry about anything. Great product.

I am using model #1 as I have a campy shifters and derailluer. It took a couple of minutes to install but I havent touched it since.

On a side note. I switched from Shimano shifters and must say the shifting with the campy is much crisper and I have not noticed any problems with the shiftmate

Hey, thanks guys! I am so much more confident in using this thing. I think my LBS just doesn't want me to get a cheap/light/good setup. If anyone cares to know my setup, well here it is:

FSA C-16 FD

I just mounted my Jtek shiftmate, running Campy Chorus shifters with my all Ultegra group. No issues!!

That is awesome! I can't understand why many people don't believe in the shiftmate. Well at least you are a converter. 😉 (no pun intended)

The reason is so many people know they each have a proprietary system, but they don't know what is different. All that is different is in how many millimeters per click the lever moves. Each derailleur needs so many millimeters movement to shift to the next cog. The shiftmate is simply a mechanical changer that will make the proper ratio change so you can shift one brand with another bran lever. Very slick setup.

Getting the right cable length was not a problem, the problem I had was that the inner cable that came with the Campy shifter had just enuf length for the normal installation of the shifter, with a bit of cable taken up my the shiftmate, I was left with quite little cable to work with.

Overall installing cables and shifters was a much easier excercise that I thot.
