  1. Hello everyone, I've been lurking un-registered on this site forever, but finally had to break down so I could ask this question. I am in the process of buying a new Yakima setup for my car and came across this website, www.customcrossbars.com. I wondered if anyone has seen them or has an opinion. They would definitely inject some life into an otherwise drab rack system... 🙂

    Thanks a lot all!

  2. I guess no one knows or cares to know about these bars, eh? I just bought a pair anyway, so I hope they are cool. If anyone is interested in a mini-report when I recieve them, put a quick reply here. At least I'll know I'm not sitting here talking to myself! 🙂

since you haven't got any replies, I'll bite. Probably the nobody knows rather than nobody cares response.

    Could be both.

  5. I guess you could combine them with Rocky Mounts, which come in various colors.

That would be pretty cool. I already have a couple of Yakima Vipers, so I went with what they call "Diablo Red." My car is dark red, plus the Yakima system is black with some red parts, so it seemed like the obvious choice. I really wanted to do something crazy, but since no one could give me a thumbs up, I didn't want to spend the extra money yet. Maybe on my next car...

I'll post a little mini-review when I get them next week for your one or two interested parties. 🙂

  7. Hey All!
I got my custom crossbars from www.customcrossbars.com today. They are pretty cool! I got 48" 'Diablo Red' bars for my car. They are very solid, the paint job looks very well done, and the clear plastic coat seems high quality. I like the endcaps they come with, nothing special but they push on tight and seem like they will keep water out of the inside, like they claim. I would definitely recommend them as a solid buy.

The guy was quite happy to hear I was going to do a mini-review here, and said if anyone mentions my cyclingforums screen name (singletraker) they'd give us 15% off. He also said they're working on some custom endcaps as well, and mentioned anodized aluminum as a possibility. He asked me to mention them, so there. 🙂 They sound pretty cool to me!

Hope that helps a fellow rider out there! 🙂
