Kona Caldera

I am interested in buying a 2005 Kona Caldera. Any opinions?

It got a really good review in issue 41 (latest issue) of What Mountain Bike. They gave it WMB Gold Award and WMB Choice Award.

Konas tend to handle really nicely, be fairly well specced with well chosen componants (small company so not as much buying power as Giant or the like), and loved passionately by people who own them

I was going to buy a Caldera but one ride on a Cannondale F600 and I was sold by the lighter weight and faster handling (and the high quality frame). I loved my old Kona Cindercone though so if the Caldera looks good to you go for it.

A good bike for the money. My father has the Cinder Cone and it’s been great. The Caldera is the same frame with better parts.
