If any of you are familiar with this TV series. Paul Sr. was trying to put together one of Lance's time trial bikes. He was using a channel lock pliers on the front hub ends thinking they screwed off and scewed back on to fix the front wheel to the fork. I sat in a daze of horror as he was mangeling the front hub on that beautiful bike :eek: . After they figured out how to use a quick release the front wheel would no longer turn!

American Choppers is a terrific show with very compelling characters, but I would be very careful about taking it so seriously. I really think Alot of what goes on the show is done for affect.
I don't know if Paul Sr. did or didn't know how the wheel went on. But I do suspect he did and was just playing up his image as the ignorant old man.
They are a bunch of over paid chumps. Things like tack welding with a MIG without ANY eye protection, grinding without a face shield and that drill press incident are just a few of the examples of poor shop practices.

I bet i see one of those T shirts atleast every day. Those guys just morrons who can afford to screw up a $5000 road bike I bet I could do a better job at putting together a time trial bike than that obnoxious old [censored] could and Im 14.
That bike is hideous!! Oh well, to each his own. I too, am sick of seeing all the dorks with their Chopper T's they bought at Wal-Mart. It is fun to ask them where their chopper is though...

leave west coast choppers outta this, jesse james is the man, he does ALL of his fabrication, american choppers is the name of a show the shop is actually orange county choppers OCC (NEW YORK NOT CALI) OCC isnt as good as West coast choppers and there bikes are really too big and look cheesy compared to most other custom bikes. and being that your a 14 year old (you sound like a little punk) you should have your facts straigt and have some knowledge of the topic before you go off on your little rant, i do agree there are far too many posers out there wearing the shirts to be cool but i think your out of line disrespecting some one as talented as jessie james..
It's undeniable that the target market for these "choppers" are good ol american rednecks. What's going on with this country? First nascar, then the choppers, and now this 'blue collar comedy' ??? There are few things I despise more than rednecks; and everyday they're becoming more prevalent in american culture.
I'm glad cycling is a sport that doesnt appeal to these people. American choppers is a fun show though.

While I despise seeing droves of people coming out of Wal-Mart with their brand new Choppers shirts, I think this comment is about as narrow minded as any I have ever heard from a redneck. I guess if you watch Nascar and have a motorcycle...perhaps even go as far as to listen to country music, you deserve to be labeled and despised. Isn't this as bad as someone saying that cycling is for [censored]? Well, I see it that way anyway...so what are you? How can we label and despise you back? Oh yeah-and cycling does appeal to some people that you would call rednecks. There are few things I despise more then people who think they are better then other people... The bike is still damn ugly, and Jesse is a media darling, regardless of his talent in fabrication- they are all ugly-looking like ladies purses all pretty and glittery-nothing says outlaw biker like purple pearl paint and chrome (yeah right). Exile and Russel Mitchell- now those are some pretty bikes, flat black and bare bones like a chopper ought to be (hence the name).
