It's all speculation of course. But history is not on Lance's side. Hinault and Indurain were
incredibly strong riders and they both did not win a 6th tdf.

This all reminds me of my brother in law who doesn't read. He can't read really well due to dyslexia
and everyone in his family excuses him because he has a 'learning disability' but the truth is he
has a learning ALLERGY. Anyways, a few years ago he and his girlfriend went on a trip and he emailed
us with some of the most horrendous phonetic spelling. Like 'miskito' and 'tortus'. NOw that he has
a kid, he's at least been reading kids books so his spelling has improved, somewhat.

Seriously, there's no rational reason to object to the verbal "impact" other than the use hasn't
been previously established. But usage changes, and it seems to me the language is in no way
diminished by it. It could be argued "affect" is sufficient, but synonyms are common in language,
and often allow subtle differences in inference, so should be valued.

The case for "lose->loose" is different, as each spelling already has a well established meaning, so
the misuse does cause confusion. Why it's spelled as it is is a good question, especially in light
of "chose" and "choose". But that's another matter.

A short list of clear RBR ignorance indicators include "grouppo", "peloton", and
misspelling "Merckx".

LOL it's funny, but I was just looking at a job listing online for Merck (Pharmaceuticals) and I

I don't get it, are you saying the first two are spelled wrong as you wrote them? Grouppo is
(->gruppo), but peloton isn't.
