I am thinking of buying a Lemond Alpe D' Huez. It is a brand new 2003. Reynolds steel frame with all 105. Originally 1550, the special price is $1000. How good of a deal is this, and do I have any room to bargain down? Thanks for the help.

Personally I think this is about right. You could probably get them down a bit, as it is "only" 105. You could get a Raleigh Professional steel bike with Ultegra 10 speed at GHVBIKES.com for about the same price. But the Lemond frame itself may be a bit better. I don't think you can go too wrong with this Lemond.

My 2 cents being an owner of 3 Lemonds. - it's a decent deal.
Here's how you look at it - what's an '03 with a simlar setup going for on the classifieds? $800-950 in mint condition with maybe a couple hundred miles.
Buy it new for a grand, ride it for a week or 2 and there is only one discernable difference between yours and the others - the warranty and service agreement you'll also get from your LBS.
