I recently developed a pain in my hamstring (i think. it's
mostly centered in the groin, opposite my hip). I was
thining that not really get a "rest" day (although i still
take a day off from running every week) was causing
problems in my leg. I also have been walking in new shoes.
maybe they don't fit...
anyhow, lifting= bad?
I'd say it all depends in how you do it. I know that lifting
on non-running days really helps me stay injury free. But I
don't do a lot of weight--just enough to strengthen key
muscle groups. Also, no more than 10 reps, as more may toss
you into overuse injury territory. Make sure you also have a
complete OFF (no running, no x-training, no weights) day in
your week . I figure if God needed rest on the 7th day,
that's good enough for me too. 🙂
