I work with a couple of indian immigrants who are fresh to these
shores. They work on my nightshift. They're a couple of nice blokes
but hard working not really. Only average to below average I would
say. The worse thing is they're always taking sickies even if its
other people sick like their wives or children. They are also very
clued up with regard benefits etc not that they can apply for many at
the moment as they aren't british citizens yet. They are both deeply
religious christians and believe basically tsunami victims had it
coming (they persecuted christians apparently) and similar sentiments
regarding the jewish holocaust. Thing that annoys me is their total
disregard for animal welfare which is view opposite to mine. Its not a
comment on general immigration but I think some will be surprised how
some immigrants are as it was an eye opener for me. I suppose the
lesson is just like anything you have to take individuals on their own
individual merit. I mentioned to one of them back along about his wife
driving the car and him as a passenger and the idea to him was quite
insulting. I'm not sure why this was as both of their wives work in a
hospital and earn considerably more than them and they are quite
comfortable with that it seems.

Weird. That's not a Christian belief.

These two don't sound like the sort of people I'd do a swapsy for. Still,
at least if their wives are working they won't be claiming much in the way
of benefits.

Unfortunately my whole 'swap scum for hardworking taxpayers' idea falls
down 'cos no country would want our scum. Fortunately the people that come
over as economic migrants tend to be from amongst the more educated, better
off sections of their society anyway. Funny accents, weird culture and
different attitudes aside, they're generally top rate. Well, top half
anyway.
