Look-style cleats on MTB shoes???

This is a naive but sincere question: What's wrong with SPD's for road use?

Regardless of mounting pattern, I don't think Look cleats will work in
recessed MTB shoes, but I haven't used Look pedals and cleats in
several years so I don't know for sure.

Is there a reason you're looking at the Look pedals? Is it just because
they're on sale?

At least the less-expensive ones I have don't stay in the proper position
(ie, pointing up) when I unclip for a stop, and I have to work at it to clip
back in, but I do eventually. I tried lubing them to no avail. I may have to
put my MTB M515 pedals back on.

Oh yes, the Look-style pedals are on sale.
