Looking for a training Buddy in the dublin.

Thanks. Do you know what route or how far they travel.

I do.

They normally cycle up the dual carriage way through Tallaght and then on up the Embankment : from there they can go either SallyGap/Wicklow Gap or
they go straight through Blessington and out toward Naas and then back in to
Dublin.

Of course, you're free to tail off at any time and do your own thing.

As I say they will accomodate all levels of fitness.

if you need a contact there - I will be happy to pass on the names of the guys to contact there if you're interested.
(I moved from Dublin years ago but if I am there for a weekend, I sometimes tag along with them, just for old times sake !)

That would be great. Are they all road warriors or a cross section. I ride with the CTC now and then they meet in the park at the eagle roundabout thing.lol every second Saturday. ride to kilcook, K-club and back . Mixed group. they also do a hill run each Saturday in between. Think they meet at the yellow house then off up the mountains with them. But any details on contacts would be great. ur mother ever tell u ur a very helpful chap. lol

Called the bike shop thats connected with the club and I was told pretty much to feck off. As it was only a racing club, Told the very nice man on the fone to change their web site as it does not state racing bikes only. As he had said to me.But life goes on and me and my old mtb will just have to bush on lol

Surprised to read that, I have to say.
The Orwell Wheelers accomodate all standards and not just road warriors.
I know the people there very well.

if you're mountain biking the Orwell isn't for you but if you're a roadie then
they should be interested.

Thanks for your help. but with People like him in their club, Would not really want any to do with the Orwell Wheelers. Now Im sure the club has some really nice people but first impressations and all that. So I will give them a miss.
Hope that Gentleman in the bike shop is not rule but the exception in that club.

Is there any similar club in the south Kildare region would anyone know? Again, i'm a beginner, and wouldn't be up to the standard of you guys!

I'm about 20 miles from Portlaoise, so i'd say that would be a runner. I know there used to be one in Kildare town itself, but not sure if it's still on the go. Yes indeed though, i'd be interested in joining. Are they like the group in Tallaght, catering for useless fat slow cyclists avec moi!!!? Also, i'm moving to Cork in september, but i'm thinking if i get the cycling habit going by then, i'll keep it going!!

I would imagine that Portlaoise (like most clubs) will welcome any new members regardless of their level of ability.

Most clubs have a broad range of members with differing fitness levels.
