  1. Ha..... I just baked some more Kursteaz CarbSimple Muffin Mix. If you ever
try it, look at the bottom of the directions where it says, "For Quick
Bread." Try it that way instead of like muffins. I put some sugar free jelly
on a piece of it. Sure satisfies the cravings.

  2. Us LCers try to live without bread, you know. Less bread = less cravings.

  3. I think it depends on the LC'er. It is definitely important to "know
thyself" in this regard. I do agree, for myself, that too much of this kind
of thing can cause cravings. Balanced against that, however, is the
psychological benefit I seem to get from eating something that seems like
"normal" SAD food once in a while. The key for me is - *once in a while*.

I did find myself wishing I had a slice of lc bread left in the freezer to
make up a serving of shortcake or "bread pudding" with the nice strawberries
I got. But they were good just with Spenda and cream.

  5. Hey, Roger. Doing pretty well here. Cold, though ::brrrrrrr:: A couple
classes I have been taking have ended and am hoping to spend a bit more time
here, and in my garden should it ever warm up. I hope you are doing well,
    same for all the asdl-c'ers.

Yeah, even a single slice of LC toast (5g/slice) with my sausage and
eggs in the morning gives me a different feeling. Not a real strong
craving, but there's something there. I'm starting to realize that
I'm more sensitive to that stuff than most people, though.

I definitely do better with those Wasa Fiber Rye crackers than with any kind
of traditional bread, even in half-slice portions. I have the same problem
with bread. I keep some in the freezer for when my grandson is over, but
    stay away from it myself.

Most lc desserts are also a problem for me, though I do indulge
occasionally. I can eat a small serving of commercial lc ice cream, however,
and not have any desire to go back for more. That NEVER happens with the
sugar-filled stuff. So I guess I have a major problem with sugar.

Probably helps that eating too much commerical LC ice cream will have you
running for longer than you might like!

  9. Not all of it, Breyer's CarbSmart has none of the nasty "ols" in it.

  10. Yes, the CarbSmart is all I'm able to find around here - in boring old
vanilla. But I never have a big serving. If I dish out too much, I end up
not finishing it. It tastes really good, though.

That would NEVER happen with, say, any flavor of Ben & Jerry's. Ice cream
was a huge problem for me, especially back in my high carb/low fat days of
    yore.

  11. I take the boring old vanilla, add some instant coffee powder, stir well,
and have my favorite ice cream.

That's what I buy. As a diabetic, I can eat a ton of it without spiking.

Dig back behind the vanilla and you should find the Butter Pecan. I think
    that's the only other flavor.

No, there is rocky road, too.

Yeah, they used to carry the Butter Pecan, but no more. I'm doing good to
find the vanilla these days... only at a couple stores here.

FOB, I've added other stuff to the vanilla, mostly chopped nuts and swirls
of sf maple syrup. I'll have to try your coffee idea... simple but
brilliant. Add a bit of chopped sf chocolate and it would be perfect for me.

    Nope,

There is also Rocky Road; my Publix doesn't carry the butter pecan, but
Winn Dixie does. I have also found a Neapolitan variety, but can't
    remember in which store.

  17. They have chocolate at our Kroger's along with the vanilla and butter pecan.
The bp is very good, too, I have never bought the chocolate as I don't much
like chocolate ice cream. I know, I'm strange, but I love coffee ice cream
    best.

I used to get chocolate and vanilla and them mix them together, but I
can't find chocolate anywhere anymore. Probably just as well, since I
have trouble staying out of the ice cream late at night, so I've stopped
    buying even the vanilla.
