I started low carbing after Thanksgiven and have gotten some pretty
good results (was 290/300 now 265). I've been doing some exercising
this whole time but am now starting a much more intensive work out
routine. I run everyday and lift weights three times a week. I was
wondering if anyone here does low carb and uses supliments for
workout's. Any advice on weight training and low carb dieting would be
helpfull.

I'm trying to pack on musscle and think like a bodybuilder who eats a
controled carb diet. I just started whey protien tonight. I got a brand
that had very low carbs (3 grams) so I think it will help out in faster
recovery time. I was just wondering if anyone else here uses any
supliments in their work-out plans. -

LC is a diet, so ...yea. I guess. I'm not doing anything else though
except lots of exercise. -

Using LC to lose weight while doing lots of exercise is not really a recipe
to pack on muscle. So, if you're goal is really to *maximize* the gain
muscle mass, then you're probably better served by not staying too low on
carbs, as carbs + protein + smart lifting + above maintenance eating =
muscle growth over the long term.Bodybuilders typically use LC as a means to get "cut", ie, lose fat to gain
definition for competition. They only do that after than have gone though
bulking stages, which are best done with a non-low carb style of eating.
Keep in mind that you can gain on a LC diet that is above maintenance in
calories, but it works better with some carbs in the diet, as LC tends to
suppress appetite making it hard to eat enough. In terms of supplements, yes, supplementation with protein powder is a good
way to get the needed protein in the diet. -

Roger, I'm not so much trying to bulk up body builder style as much as
simply put on some lean musscle and increase strength.I have a multi but no fish oil. I've hear a lot about fish/flax seed
oil but don't really know anything about them. -

sure you refrigerate the capsules (if you take it in capsule form) and check
to make sure the fish oil isn't rancid every once in a while. Apparently a
lot of people are taking rancid fish oil. -

probably means you have some extra bodyfat.
You can continue to train while LCing to lose the extra fat. Lifting and
getting sufficient protein will help minimize muscle loss while you diet.
LCing is great for this. Also, you can improve strength while dieting,
though you won't gain a lot of muscle (newbies always seem to gain muscle
mass in the beginning - though I'm not sure if you're a newbie at lifting or
not). After you get the bodyfat where you want it, you can start training
to increase mass - which generally means you overeat (here, eating more
carbs helps) and train properly for gaining size. You'll likely gain some
fat too, so you'll have to keep a close watch on that. After you've put on
some mass, you can then diet the fat away, which should reveal your newly
gained muscle (which was likely hidden away by a covering of fat). One can train for specifically for strength or mass. Generally, with the
proper training routine, one can increase strength without gaining mass (or
while losing weight). Generally, increases in mass bring some amount of
strength increase, but the two are not one in the same and there are
different ways to train for each. Why don't you go hang out in misc.fitness.weights for a bit to get some
hints on the differences. The thing is, you need to define specific goals
to maximine your training results. Putting on significant lean muscle and
losing weight are opposite goals. As I mentioned, newbies to lifting can
manage to gain some extra muscle mass early on while dieting, but once your
body adapts it will be very, very hard to gain lean muscle while dieting. One can say a lot more on this, but I have other things to do.
