  1. Hi, just tried the Hillwalker Lakes and Wales CD Roms. I just can't get on with the user interface.
Anybody recomend an alternative that is good with GPS ? Anquet maybe ? Thanks, Mike.

Ps. anyone want the Hillwalkers of mine for the price of P&P ?

If you want a CD containing maps you can't go far wrong with the Anquet 1:50 000 Lakes CD for £35. I
find the interface very easy to use and makes planning routes much quicker than the paper
    equivelent.

The memory map programs are the other alternative. I can't really comment on them as I have never
used them. As in my ealier post MM are bringing out their 1:25 000 CD's which will allow you to
view the maps in CD as well as the aeiral view, flat and 3D, again, even more expensive at £100 for
    the Lakes.

I think someone posted a link to a GPS review site with information about all the mapping software.
Tell you what, here it is... pocketgpsworld.commenu gpstopo.php

    Cheers

    Andy

Hi Andy, The Anquet looks like exactly what I want. I'll be calling at Fishers in Keswick tomorrow
to try it out. According to their website, Anquet have some of their staff there tomorrow to demo
the software. Hopefully I'll *just* buy the lakes mapping, and not the whole country ;-) Thanks for
    the link, Mike.

I've been playing with Anquet Lakes Superscale for a couple of hours, and am seriously impressed :-)
Dead easy to use, and does all I need. Mike.

Noooooooooo !!! I'm keeping this one all to myself ;-) Just printed out a few maps, and because of
no waterproofing, they look even clearer than the original Harvey's. The only downside is that Zippa-
    Bag's are 99p each :-(
