I love these carrots and so far have only cooked them in the microwave and
added s&p and butter. Does anyone have any more ideas for them? My store
doesn't have them all the time so maybe they are seasonal.

do that? -

You all are making fun of me right? They are already sweet so why would I
do that?I don't know if they're making fun, but try this simple experiment.
The next time you zap some carrots, substitute a pinch of sugar for the
pinch of salt. It's counterintuitive, because carrots are already
sweet and get sweeter when they're cooked, but some form of added
sweetness makes them even better. And salt doesn't perk them up the
way it does nearly every other vegetable. IMHO. -aem -

People do make them glazed, but I would definitely not sweeten them.
I'd do just what you do, and all cooked carrots are great with beef or
turkey gravy as well. What about raw?--Bryan

I have never heard of 'maroon' carrots? something to do with chestnuts?OIC! googling marron carrots i learn they are a type of extra sweet
carrot i wonder if the recipes for sweet potatoes imperial or royal
could or should be adapted to them?In the imperial slices of sweet potato are sauted in butter with sugar
and rum added. In the royal the sweet potatoes are mashed with chestnuts and butter and
rum and brandy added. Maybe substitute a nice fruity white wine for the
rum or brandy?

Carrots ARE good deep fried tho', but lightly seasoned and salted
afterwards.I usually just steam carrots and serve with butter, salt and pepper, but
a little fresh grated ginger is also good with them.Om
