i stopped today in one of my rides and when i started my powertap again, it created two files. is there anyway i can merge these?

Yes. Just drag/drop the first file, save it, then drag/drop the second file on top of the first one in the calendar view, then save the combined file.

At what point does it fail? How does it fail? Do you get any messages?

got it to work, i re-downloaded it in cyclingpeaks as opposed to poweragent and it was one file. not sure what the problem was. -

I think the problem was poweragent, because I do what you were trying to do all the time in CP and I never have a problem. Glad it's working.🙂
