Minor new content added to my website

Claire, I checked out your website and - what can I say - man, all that
"touchy, feely stuff" really turns me off. It's like I've told you
before, Claire, you seem like a really nice person in many ways, and I
really don't want to be unduly critical of you but, girl, I think
you're living in a dream world. I just can't believe that you really
believe that stuff, and if you do, then there is something wrong with
you. Has anyone else ever told you this? I am going to leave it at
that, except to say that I am being sincere with you, and I am not a
spammer or a troll. I am just a normal guy who feels you're trying
'WAY too hard to find some esoteric meaning in everything you do. You
just need to accept the fact that life, as well as bicycling, is
essentially meaningless, so that meditating on it is simply a waste of
time. I just thought you needed some feedback. A reality check, as

Well it saved me the effort : that link was only just on topic to say
the least for the average cyclist that reads these forums.

Still, if all that group hug stuff tickles your fancy then fine.

Personally I cringed.

Congratulations on your uplifting website, Claire. While it is true
that one can assume that life (and bicycling) are essentially
meaningless, it is so much more fulfilling to seek the profound in
everyday activities.

IMO, life is what you make of it. And Claire seem to be making it more
enjoyable and meaningful than most. I don't really see how you can
fault that.

Fred, what I don't understand about your response is this: if, as we
used to say, there are "different strokes for different folks," what's
the point of being critical--duly or unduly--of another person's way of
giving meaning to life? If it doesn't cause harm in the world or

but it does seem odd the way Fred felt the need to express it. If someone
was posting reams of stuff you to the newsgroup like, oh, say someone who's

A lot of people think that. Amazing. Even more amazing is that its
really funny how certain gentlemen always jump to the defence of a
female poster : I think the original reply was very valid - if you post
links to your work here then expect replies and criticism here. I went
to the site and was almost sick : far too sugary sweet for my taste
buds. I dont criticise the writer of all that mystical drivel : all to
their own - but its certainly not for me or, I would guess, a great

But back to the second post, Claire's site does have something to do
with cycling, so IMHO it's relevant here. "Fred Olson" launched an
unwarranted personal attack based on his tastes. Neither his
preferences nor his personal attack have anything to do with cycling.

Just as an aside, was it really necessary for so many people to quote
the jerk in full? Those of us who set up kill files would appreciate
severe trimming in these instances.
