Thanks Carla for the great link you had of how to work on the Marathon S. When I read through it I
realized I had completely misunderstood Marzocchi on how to finetune my Marathon S. Or they weren't
very good at explaining. Take your pick😉
When I got to the rebound adjustment I still was a little confused though as it seems that the
little screw for the rebound and the knob for the preload turn together. This is all on the right
hand side. Setting preload on the left side was a piece of cake.
Check out this picture for a right side view of Preload and Rebound adjustment knobs.
myweb.cableone.netMarz reboundadj arrow.jpgOpen ↗ When I turn the rebound
"silver slot", the preload knob "black knob", moves with it and vice versa. I thought they should be
set independently of each other but I am a little nervous about holding on to the black knob with a
wrench and applying force on the screw in the middle. So as it is right now it feels like I can only
set the preload on the right side.
Is there anybody can explain how this is supposed to be. BTW I don't even have the plastic black
knob anymore. It looks like it has been knocked off. You can see where the small allen bolt made a
nudge mark in it. It is still easy to turn with a 7 mm wrench. Except that the screw moves with it.
Hope somebody could follow this.
